A great range of interesting and informative products for Victoria’s recreational anglers are to be released over the coming months by Fishcare Victoria.
At this year’s Melbourne Fishing Show and Outdoors Expo, Fishcare launched the second set of five brochures in the popular Port Phillip - Local Fish in Focus brochure series. If you want to know more about catching yellow-eye mullet, silver trevally, mulloway, Australian salmon and black bream, then grab yourself a set of Local Fish in Focus brochures from Fishcare or tackle store. This colourfully illustrated production introduces the angler to the biology and habitat of each species, as well as the all important information on how, where and when to catch them in Port Phillip. Anglers are encouraged to take a responsible approach to fishing, through simple techniques such as supporting fish with wet hands or a wet cloth. Fishcare are excited to announce that funding from the Recreational Fishing Licence Trust and Recreational Fishing Community Grants Program will see an additional print run of the ten Local Fish in Focus brochures and extension to a further five species, which will be available early in 2008. Funding will also see reprints of the popular What’s Under the Water? children’s activity book, Know Your Catch – Snapper brochure, and a series of children’s stickers, and the production of the next two Know Your Catch brochures – black bream and dusky flathead.
