The dusky flathead is one of the most important recreational target species in the East Gippsland region’ said Fishcare facilitator, Scott Gray who was involved in the development of the product. “There is plenty of detailed information in this new brochure about the lifecycle, released fish survival and some handy tips on things you can do to help reduce deep hooking and increase the survival chances of released fish. Fishcare Victoria continues to distinguish itself as the prominent educator of Victorian recreational anglers.The brochures were produced as part of $101,000 project titled Fishcare Publications – a suite of educational materials for recreational anglers funded by Fishcare Victoria, which includes a $43,400 grant awarded to Fishcare East Gippsland Inc. from Round 5 of the Australian Government’s Recreational Fishing Community Grants Program, and $12,500 from the 07/08 Victorian Recreational Fishing Grants Program.
